Getting found locally online
Local customers look you up. A clear Google Business Profile, honest pages for the areas you cover, and real reviews help. Nothing here promises rankings, leads or results.
General information, not legal, planning or building-regulations advice.
Google Business Profile
Claim or create your profile, use your real trading name, and keep the address, hours and service areas accurate. Add photos of real work. Answer messages when you can. Google’s own help pages explain verification — we don’t control Google’s process.
Pages for the areas you cover
If you work in more than one town, a short page per area (what you do there, who it’s for, how to enquire) is clearer than one long dump of place names. Only write about places you actually cover.
Reviews must be real
Ask happy clients to leave a review on a platform you use, if they want to. Never write fake reviews, never buy them, and never swap reviews for discounts in a way that breaks the rules. Fake reviews are illegal in the UK under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the Competition and Markets Authority’s guidance on fake reviews. If you show star ratings on your own site, they must be genuine and not misleading.
Directories
A few accurate listings beat dozens of forgotten ones. Keep name, address and phone (if you publish one) consistent. This site does not publish a phone number for Web Designer Limited; for your own firm, decide carefully what you make public.
What we won’t claim
We won’t promise first place on Google, a set number of leads, or “guaranteed” results. Search changes. Your site and profile need honest, up-to-date information.
Growth and Bespoke packages include local search set-up as listed on Website sizes. Ask about a website.
